OUR TEAM

I'm Ruthy, I'm married to Pete and we have 4 grown-up children. We lived in Canada for 12 years, where we home-schooled them.

I have a chaplaincy-type role at Christ Church primary school, and also spend some voluntary hours each week facilitating pony-therapy for anxious children and young people. Actually , being out doors is my favourite place to be! I enjoy art, music and gardening, but am pretty amateur. We also have a couple of cats who came back from Canada with us.

I am married to Sam and have three adult sons. In 2011 I retired after many years of working in a primary school in Yorkshire. We moved to Bristol and I joined the congregation of Christ Church Clifton, where I became involved in various ministry areas including Sunday Kids’ Church and the Toddler Group. I got to know the pre-school very well during the years that my granddaughters, now 9 and 6, attended and
both really loved it. My interests include cooking, reading, walking, music and singing.

I have worked in Early Years throughout my career to date and currently teach Reception at a local
Primary School. Giving young children the best start to their educational journey is a particular
passion of mine and volunteering as a Trustee for Christchurch Pre- School provides me with the
opportunity to serve the community I have been a part of, since joining Christchurch Church in 2009.
In my spare time I enjoy walks with my husband Matthew and our two dogs.
